Paranormal Timeslips

Stories of timeslips have always fascinated me. No, I’m talking about the ordinary time slip you use at work to keep track of your work hours, and I’m not talking about when time slips away while you are having a good time. I’m talking about paranormal timeslips that occur when a person suddenly finds themselves in an alternate time for a brief period.

What are paranormal timeslips?

As strange as it sounds, paranormal timeslips are more common than you may think and have been reported by people around the globe. Many people believe that paranormal timeslips occur because time is nonlinear. In essence, there is no past, present, or future, as they all happen simultaneously.

What we perceive as the past and future actually occur simultaneously on different planes or in other dimensions.

Timeslips occur when we breach the fabric of time and momentarily slip into an alternate time. These momentary blips may be fleeting, or they may last for hours.

Imagine traveling down a familiar roadway and suddenly discovering everything has changed. Familiar landmarks may be missing, the landscape may appear surreal, and houses may suddenly take on new shapes and sizes. Typically, the scene appears to be from the past and disappears as quickly as it appeared.

Most of us would probably shake our heads and carry on thinking we must have slipped into a dream state or imagined the entire thing. However, when more than one person experiences the eerie event at the same time, one must consider other explanations.

Paranormal Timeslip in the Catskills . . .

That’s precisely what happened to a young New York couple out for a ride in the Catskills. It seems that the young couple decided to explore the area in their truck and started driving on back roads one evening at about 7 p.m. They soon found themselves lost amid a snowstorm and became alarmed as the gas gauge dropped to empty.

Suddenly they noticed the lights in a gas station and pulled in to get gas and directions to find their way home. According to the post in the Unexplained Mysteries Forum by Wookie McFly, a sign saying General Store adorned the front of the building and the gas pumps looked like those from the 1940s. Fearing they were ornamental, the young man was relieved when a man walked out of the store and offered to fill up his tank.

Meanwhile, his girlfriend decided to check out the store. When the young man joined her, he noticed that the inside of the store looked like a picture from the 1940s with mailboxes on the wall behind the counter, glass candy jars, Hershey bars in ‘old wrappers,’ and Coke in old-fashioned bottles.

Anxious to get home and concerned about having enough money to pay for the gas, the couple left without purchasing anything in the store. The young man was shocked when he asked how much he owed for gas, as the owner told him $1.28 and said that gas was currently 10 cents a gallon.

The puzzled couple paid for the gas and followed the man’s directions to find their way home, only to discover that while the clock in the vehicle indicated they had been gone for four hours, only two hours had actually passed and they arrived home at 9 p.m.

Although the couple searched for the gas station in the following days, no one they asked had heard of it, and it was never found.

What do you think?

Did the young couple in the Catskills slip into another time as they traveled the back roads of NY, or is there another explanation for this mysterious event?
