Personal Experiences

Growing up in a small rural town has not been without its share of ghost stories and tales of the unexplained. As a child, I listened to the tales in wide eyed wonder that quickly turned to fear at the end of the day. I will never forget the sense of dread and fear that over took me the day my father held me on his knee and declared there was no such thing as ghosts; but, if there were, one should grab me right now.

His intent, of course, was to prove to me then and there that ghosts did not exist. I’m sure he had no idea of the intense fear that overwhelmed me at that moment, as I anticipated some invisible force about to swoop down and grab me. I didn’t like the idea of invisible being lurking and watching my every move then, and I don’t like it now.

For that reason, I would never attempt to capture an EVP in my own home. I wouldn’t set out a camera to catch some mysterious being lurking in the corner of my room, and I take great care not to seek out shadows in the darkness.

However, I am perfectly fine with seeking them out in someone else’s home; after all, these spirits do not live with me.

Now that may sound cowardly to you, but I don’t care. It’s just the way it is and I intend to keep it that way.

  1. Oh no, I’m totally sympathetic with what you said. A home is a place to relax and to NOT expect the unexpected. Invisible forces that like to cause havoc is not relaxing. If you pay attention to them they like amping up the game.

Hey! What do you have to say, today?
