Buyer beware: Selling stigmatized property in Maine 

Buying or selling a haunted house in Maine may not require disclosure, but many real estate agents advise home owners to disclose the fact that the home is known to have paranormal activity. Many states include hauntings or paranormal activity in their disclosure laws for stigmatized property. Even though Maine does not require it, failure to disclose could put you at risk of a lawsuit when the new owner discovers that you knew – or should have known – that the property was haunted.
