So I had a bit of fun today writing about astral jelly. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the term, it refers to a jelly-like substance that some believe comes from outer space – particularly when meteors enter the earth’s atmosphere. There are a number of other terms for it – star jelly, space goo, star rot and my personal favorite – star snot.
A recent report of the appearance of globs of this gooey stuff in the UK has some thinking it is connected to the Russian meteor that crashed to earth in a ball of fire last Friday. Although scientists aren’t sure exactly what this mysterious substance is, they aren’t ready to buy into folklore yet either.
On another note, I was contacted by Patrick Doyle from “Ghost Mine” this week after writing an article about his statement that paranormal reality shows are 100 percent entertainment. He says he was naive at the time and has agreed to do an interview to share his thoughts on the topic. I’m looking forward to talking with him and learning how his views may have changed now that he is a lead investigator on a SyFy Paranormal reality show.
In other news, “Ghost Hunters” will return to its regular time slot at 9/8c beginning tomorrow and Amy Bruni will return to the show soon. “Ghost Mine” will follow at 10/9c.
