Okay, I’ll admit it. I mulled this over and over while trying to go to sleep last night. Mainly because I can’t figure it out and that bothers me.
My thought process went a bit like this:
Steve is crying. Steve would only cry if he was facing a fear of his own – like his fear of flying – that prevents him from doing what he really wants to do or if something bad happened to someone he cared about. If Amy or Britt were leaving it is unlikely that Steve would be upset – at least not upset enough to cry. When Steve cries, he turns away from Tango leading me to suspect that something has happened in Tango’s life.
Tango is very serious, but doesn’t look surprised. He could be serious because Steve is upset, or it could be because he already knew the “news.”
Grant hitches his pants. Grant does this when he is confronting something surprising that needs his attention. If Grant were leaving, he would not have a reason for this. Yet, Grant cries. Grant wouldn’t cry because one of the members were leaving for a better opportunity. In the closing of the clip, Grant says, “This is crazy.” Grant typically says this when others make decisions over which he and Jay have no control.
Jason appears to break the news. He leans in and rests on the back of a chair. He later says to Grant “It is what it is.” which is what Jason says when something happens that is beyond he and Grant’s control.
So.. I think the news is beyond Jason and Grant’s control – if either of them were leaving that would not be the case.
What does that leave us?
Ami, Britt and Adam.
Britt. Let’s look at them for a moment. No offense, but no one would be crying if Britt were leaving. He’s been back and forth from GH to GHI and nothing has been said in the past. Rumors do have it that Britt was “banned” for a period for some politically incorrect statements I won’t go into here. No. I don’t think it has anything to do with Britt – even though Britt does appear to be crying.
Ami appears not to know the news as she questions whether it will be “good or bad news” before the “assumed announcement.” If Ami were leaving, I don’t think there would be a lot of tears – perhaps a little surprise, but no tears. Ami appears sober, but doesn’t seem to express strong emotion. She does, however, hug Grant which could signal that either her or Grant is leaving the show.
That leaves us with Adam whose reaction was not shown. Could Adam evoke this kind of reaction in other members. I don’t think so.
My bet is that the news is something beyond the members of Ghost Hunters, and I’m leaning towards thinking it has something to do with Tango.
Of course, I’m hoping that SyFy is toying with us and the news will be something as silly as chasing leprechauns in Ireland or hunting down the Easter bunny.
I’d love to hear what you think and why. Please take the poll and leave your comments for everyone to share.
